In Greater Noida, a major move against a defaulting builder in Greater Noida, the process to recover outstanding land dues amounting to approximately 315 crore rupees has been initiated. According to the Greater Noida Authority, the defaulting builders have been issued warnings and granted opportunities on multiple occasions. They were even offered the option to avail themselves of the benefits recommended by the Amitabh Kant committee, with the suggestion of providing some relief on interest payments to builders who cleared their outstanding dues. Despite this, 14 builders neither availed of the scheme nor deposited the pending amounts.
There is one committee, whose name is the Amitabh Kant committee, which was constituted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, to resolve issues related to this issue. Subsequently, the Uttar Pradesh Government implemented the committed recommendation to bring these stopped projects back on track and ensure home buyers received their homes.
